At just five years old, he built his sister, Rebecca, a swing-set and bench for her dolls. Throughout his years as a teen he would continue to use his talents to make small pieces of furniture. After high school, he knew he wanted to hone his craft and become a skilled woodworker. This led him to Everette, Washington Community College’s Precision Woodworking Program. In this program, he gained the knowledge of traditional methods of making cabinets and woodworking. While in school, he worked the night shift at a commercial furniture manufacturer. 1980 is when he became a professional woodworker and in 1987, Jeff moved back to his hometown of Superior, Wisconsin to open what is now Dorfman CO.
